Formerly a traditional two-storey house, the lodge was upgraded in 2008 to include modern facilities and an al fresco cafe, but it still remains true to its Bruneian heritage. It was built with eco-friendly materials and local hardwood such as selangan batu and meranti, so it only has an impact on visitors, not the environment! The lodge welcomes explorers from all over the world on their way to the heart of Borneo. Rest and recharge with our comfy beds, hot showers, free local breakfast, and enjoy chatting with our local, multi-lingual staff who can answer any questions you may have about the region, rainforest living and wildlife.

In case you get bored of the shimmering song of the forest, a feeling of peace and relaxation and a connection with nature, kayaking, rafting, climbing and other fun activities are nearby: the lodge sits on the banks of the River Temburong and within Freme’s own adventure park. If you want to explore further afield, Freme Rainforest Lodge is a perfect junction for tours of the Ulu Ulu Temburong national parks with their exotic birds, reptiles and mammals, or a mangrove river safari where you can spot sunbathing crocs and even the rare proboscis monkey.
